Interview on Vermont Viewpoint, WDEV with Ric Cengeri
I was overjoyed to see my painting "Night Swim" featured in Architectural Digest as part of a story on art advisor and collector Kathy Ganley's beautiful Minneapolis home.
I was thrilled to collaborate with Popia Design on a portrait series earlier this month. It went like this: Popia customers submitted photos of themselves wearing Popia's beautiful winter hats. We selected a handful and I painted portraits. Popia hats are super detailed – right down to the very last stitch. But as part of our collaboration, Poppy, the owner of the Vermont-based company, trusted me to capture the spirit and the exuberance of the hats with spontaneous brushstrokes. It was great fun; I hope you enjoy the portraits. And be sure to visit Popia Design to get yourself the perfect winter hat.
Looking back to a year ago – October 2019 – a group of classical string musicians played at my studio while I painted their portraits. The mood is beautifully captured in this video by my friend Andy Mitchell.

I was thrilled to learn that my artwork is hanging in Congresswoman Val Demings’ office! Thanks to the folks that wrote in to tell me they saw it during her MSNBC interview with @JoyAnnReid discussing mail-in voting. Both of these women inspire me.

FaceTime portraits with volunteers and essential workers across the world
On March 23rd, as social distancing became the norm across the globe, Rebecca began the FaceTime chapter of A Neighbor Project, inviting anyone around the world to sit for a thirty-minute portrait session over Face Time. She projected a map of the world on her studio wall, traced it, and began painting volunteers over FaceTime on 7” x 5” panels. The portraits are attached to the map wall according to their location. In April, she began focusing on essential workers, in celebration of their devotion and bravery.
